The Heart of Gold Leadership Lab

The Heart of Gold experience, built for camps, clubs, groups & homeschoolers

Heart of Gold for Kids™ was built on the belief that every child carries greatness within them, and that greatness doesn't blossom in a single setting.

After-school programs, summer programs, homeschoolers, co-ops, scouts, YMCAs, Boys & Girls Clubs, church groups, families, and more are bringing the Heart of Gold experience to the kids they serve. The Heart of Gold Leadership Lab was thoughtfully designed for facilitator-led settings, so it works beautifully in the hands of anyone who cares deeply about the children in their care.

The Heart of Gold Experience,

Designed for Your Setting

Where children learn to lead with heart and shine with confidence.

Give the kids in your care a meaningful leadership journey that makes values feel fun, relatable, and real. Anchored in A Heart of Gold: The Greatest Gift and its five core leadership values — Unconditional Love, Tenacity, Positivity, Loyalty, and a Sense of Humor — the program guides children through story, reflection, and hands-on activities so they discover their own unique heart of gold, build confidence in who they are, and carry these values with them long after the program ends.

No teaching background required. Just a passion for empowering the next generation.

“I love that this book teaches positive character traits in a child-friendly manner, helping kids to understand how their decisions and actions affect others in ways that at a young age they may not be aware of yet. I also love that after each story the character trait is explained clearly with an accompanying activity to engage children in thinking about examples in their own life!!”

By combining storytelling, reflection, and hands-on learning, Heart of Gold for Kids helps students understand who they are, how their strengths show up in daily life, and how their choices make a difference in their world.

The shift becomes visible as these values take root. Students participate more confidently, lean into their unique strengths when facing challenges, and support one another with kindness. Teachers see smoother days, stronger cooperation, and enjoy a program that’s simple to integrate without adding to their planning workload. Families notice leadership showing up at home as children begin bringing these values into their everyday decisions and interactions. As these lessons become part of daily life, everyone around them benefits, and schools grow into communities where every child feels seen, supported, and empowered to thrive.

A portion of profits supports underprivileged youth.

The storybook is the foundation of this experience.

Children complete the interactive activity pages inside their book first, then expand on each lesson through the facilitator-led activities. Each copy also includes a full-sized tear-out watercolor poster and a special bookmark award in the back. Written for elementary-age children, every participant needs their own copy to fully engage with the program, and it becomes a keepsake they will return to again and again.

Pricing

$200

The facilitator and every participant should have their own individual books, which can be added at checkout for $20 each. Additional notecard and envelope sets are available at checkout for groups larger than 5.

“What stood out to me about Heart of Gold for Kids was how it brings big ideas down to a child’s level. The real-world examples help kids truly ‘see’ what kindness, bravery, and love look like. It’s the kind of book that opens hearts - for children and parents alike.”

A Story-Based SEL Curriculum Program for K-5 Classrooms to Bring Leadership to Life

The Heart of Gold for Kids Curriculum

When A Heart of Gold: The Greatest Gift was introduced to classrooms, teachers quickly noticed how much students connected with the story. The book’s interactive elements and activity pages sparked thoughtful conversations and helped children engage with leadership values in a fun way that felt natural. Teachers shared that students were enjoying the experience so much that they wanted more ways to continue those moments beyond story time.

What began as a storybook has grown into a complete K–5 social-emotional learning and leadership program that strengthens classroom culture and supports the whole child in every dimension of who they are.

The curriculum was developed with teachers and real classroom experiences at the center, shaped by the practical realities educators navigate every day, including limited planning time, increasing SEL expectations, and the need for resources that deliver without adding to their plate.

As a result, the Heart of Gold Curriculum is designed to be:

  • Simple to integrate and ready to use, with clear lesson plans that require minimal prep and fit naturally into existing routines

  • Flexible across grade levels, class structures, and learning environments, with varied activities designed to reach every type of learner

  • Aligned with both SEL competencies and academic objectives, to strengthen the whole student without adding to teacher workload

  • Adaptable for classrooms, small groups, camps, teams, and youth programs

  • A shared leadership language for students, teachers, and families that extends into everyday life

What we aim to help schools achieve:

Our curriculum is designed to empower students to become thoughtful leaders who make positive choices in their classroom, at home, and in their communities.

Measurable goals:

  • Increase students’ belief in their leadership abilities

Students show a 40% growth in key leadership skills including resilience, compassion, and responsible decision-making.

  • Create safer, more respectful classrooms

Reduce reported bullying incidents by 20% in participating classrooms within one school year.

  • Build lasting self-confidence

Elevate students’ self-confidence by 30%, measured through reflection journals and teacher assessments.

  • Improve classroom climate

Ensure that 75% of teachers report improved classroom cooperation and peer relationships after implementation.

  • Expand leadership into everyday environments

To see 80% of parents report noticing positive leadership behaviors at home after their child participates.

The Ripple Effect of Empowering Young Leaders

When a child learns to lead with heart, it shows up everywhere. It shows up in how they treat a teammate who is struggling and in how they show up to celebrate someone else's win.

You see it in how they walk into a room, contribute to a group, and carry themselves through the world. And you feel it in how they carry themselves internally; grounded in who they are, confident in what they bring, and resilient enough to keep going when life asks something hard of them.

The children in your care are already part of something: a team, a community, a family. When they grow in character together, the whole group is transformed. A shared language of values begins to shape how everyone shows up for one another, and the friendships, trust, and connection that develop during your sessions continue to grow long after they end.

The young leaders shaped today are the changemakers, collaborators, and community builders of tomorrow.

Here is what that looks like when every child is living these values:

A child who leads with Positivity lifts the energy of every room they walk into and helps others see possibility even when circumstances feel heavy.

A child who practices Loyalty learns to follow through on their word, trust themselves to do what they say, and become someone others can count on.

A child who discovers their Tenacity develops the stick-to-itiveness to see things through, whether something is challenging, takes longer than expected, or asks more of them than they thought they had.

A child who leads with Unconditional Love creates space where others feel safe, seen, and celebrated for exactly who they are.

A child who embraces their Sense of Humor discovers that laughter builds connection and makes the journey genuinely joyful for everyone they share it with.

This is what it means to invest in young leaders.

The return is immeasurable, and it ripples outward in ways you may never fully see, but will always be glad you started.

A portion of profits from every purchase supports nonprofits dedicated to children's empowerment. Every child deserves to be celebrated, supported, and inspired to shine.
